Guard Your Heart
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
-Proverbs 4:23
Every Monday morning, I offer a weekly check-in for folks on my Instagram stories. I ask questions like, “How is your heart today?” or “What can you do to care for yourself this morning?” Then I close by offering an affirmation.
It has been a beautiful way to start my week, so I thought I might offer a little check-in for you all - my email community - as well. Spend some time with these questions, let them rest on your heart. Check in with your spirit.
How are you feeling this morning?
Tired and a bit worn? Calm and ready for the week? A bit tender? Focused and energized?
What is something you can do to care for yourself today? Choose one or two:
Drink water
Give myself the grace I extend to others
Love my body in a way that feels good and loving
Take a 20-minute break to rest and recuperate
What do you need right now? Write down a word:
Hope; Forgiveness; Peace; Focus; Grace; Rest; Assurance; Love
What is one thing you are grateful for about yourself? Chose one or two, or think of your own:
Your wisdom and knowledge
Your soft, open heart
Your determination and hope
Your ability to connect with others
A little affirmation for you:
You are good and brilliant and kind. There is a brightness in your spirit that shines through you, even on the days you feel dim. You do not have to do anything to prove your worth. You are worthy and wonderful just because you are. God loves you, and so do I. My life is better, as is the world, because you are in it.
In love,
Pastor Kelsey
